Kaneez Zehra

Executive Director -SAQE, National Coordinator-PCE

Kaneez Zehra is a policy advocate, activist, and campaigner for Education, Health, Climate Change, and Human Rights. She has over 20 years of experience working on various aspects of educational, health, and social development. She is vocal and assertive about a rights-based approach, active citizenship, and social accountability.

She is also a member of the Knowing-Doing Network (KDN) formed by the Center for Universal Education (CUE) within the Global Economy and Development program at the Brookings Institution. She is a member of the KIX-EMAP National Steering Committee, in Pakistan is a joint endeavor of GPE Knowledge and Innovation Exchange with the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) to connect expertise, innovation, and knowledge to support GPE partner countries in building stronger education systems and accelerating progress toward SDG 4.

Zehra was an alternate board member for CSO 2 Constituency of the Global Partnership for Education Board, from April 2016 until March 2019, representing civil society of Asia-Pacific, Latin America, the Middle East, and Eastern Europe. She was also a member of the Finance and Risk Committee (FRC) of GPE until 2020. In 2018, she was a part of the advisory panel of independent experts to guide institutional practices, mechanisms, and tools that enhance accountability and inclusiveness in civil society self-governance within multi-stakeholder processes while reviewing EITI civil society guidelines.

Zehra has conducted successful research and executed campaigns and interventions that have generated socially inclusive educational programs and policies. Zehra is an Education Champion of the Malala Fund who advocates for empowering young girls and building their capacity to engage effectively in policy processes.

She has represented Pakistan's civil society on various committees and global forums, including CCNGO/EFA, GCE, ASPBAE, and C20's thematic working group on Gender Inequality and Social Protection, Reforms of the International Financial System, and Responsible Investment and the Role of the Private Sector.

PCE is an initiative of "Society for Access to Quality Education (SAQE)" registered under the Voluntary Social Walfare Agencies Ordinance of 1961 (CLVI of 1961) with the registration number VSWA/ICT/611 in the year 2012
