Budget 2021-22: How Pakistan Can Prioritize Education During the Pandemic

Supported by the Malala Fund and hosted by journalist Zarar Khuhro, this virtual national dialogue gathered key officials and parliamentarians: Senator Mushahid Hussain, Madiha Nisar (MPA, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa), Rabia Azfar (MPA, Sindh), and Shamim Aftab (MPA, Punjab) around the 2021-22 education budget.

The session laid out the severity of the pandemic's toll: girls' dropout rates climbing, and the shift to digital learning widening existing inequalities. It made the case for increasing education financing, especially development spending, to recover the ground lost to COVID-19.
